Onus
The series started as part of a collaboration with a theatrical company in a play in 2014 that focused on a homeless man - the solitary hooded figure fascinated Kerr as an archetype of our economically-broken time. The figure whom he named Onus, turns up over and over in the paper cuts and in the resulting paintings, appearing as protagonist in contemporary culture war scenarios as the downcast urban guru, a refugee, a religious or political disciple.
